Student Handbook
Welcome to Meen Studios. We're so excited to have you here. This handbook is your guide to preparing for class, understanding how our courses work, and getting the most out of your experience at Meen Studios.
WelcomeWhether you're brand new to sewing or returning to a creative hobby, every student begins in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment. Classes are project-based and taught step by step, so you'll build confidence while creating something you can actually take home and use. No experience is required.
Before Your First ClassStudents should bring: Just bring yourself… and maybe some inspiration photos.
Meen Studios will provide: sewing machines, basic tools, classroom equipment, instruction, and a creative workspace
What to BringAge RequirementMeen Studios classes are designed for adults ages 18 and older. Due to the nature of our projects, studio environment, and hands-on instruction, all participants must be at least 18 years old at the time of their class.
Our courses are created with adult learners in mind and take place in a shared creative workspace where students work independently with sewing equipment, tools, and materials. For safety, comfort, and the best learning experience for everyone, we are unable to accommodate students under the age of 18 at this time.
At Meen Studios, we're building a creative community where everyone feels inspired, supported, and comfortable learning something new.
As a member of the Meen Studios community, we ask that you:
Come with an open mind and a willingness to learn.
Respect shared tools, equipment, and the creative space.
Arrive on time so every class can begin together.
Support and encourage your fellow students.
To maintain a healthy environment, please do not attend class if you are displaying any symptoms of illness (sneezing, coughing, or fever)
Studio ExpectationsAttendance & Class PoliciesArrival time: Classes start promptly at their scheduled time
Late arrivals: We understand that delays happen. However, students arriving more than 15 minutes late may miss important demonstrations and foundational instruction. Because classes are carefully paced, there may not be enough time to catch you up without interrupting the learning experience for the rest of the class. If you know you'll be late, please contact us as soon as possible.
Missed classes: Because our classes are project-based and build upon each week's instruction, missed classes are not automatically made up or refunded. If you miss a class, we'll provide guidance on the best way to continue your project whenever possible, but we cannot guarantee individual catch-up instruction.
Cancellations & Rescheduling: We understand that plans can change. While class registrations are non-refundable, cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled class will receive a class credit that can be applied toward a future class, subject to availability. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice are not eligible for a credit.
Refund policy: All class registrations are non-refundable once purchased. Because Meen Studios classes have limited availability and require preparation, we are unable to offer refunds for cancellations, missed classes, or changes in schedule. If you are unable to attend your scheduled class, please refer to our Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy for information about receiving a class credit.
If Meen Studios needs to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances, students will have the option to transfer their registration to another available class or receive a full refund.
